PKF - Prague Philharmonia was founded in 1994 by conductor Jiří Bělohlávek. Under his direction is soon became one of the best orchestras in Czech Republic and it received great renown abroad. As of season 2005/2006 (Bělohlávek became Chief-conductor of BBC Symphony Orchestra) the artistic direction continued under the supervision of Swiss conductor Kaspar Zehnder and in 2008/2009 season, Jakub Hrůša was appointed its chief-conductor. PKF - Prague Philharmonia performs in front concert halls around the world and gets regular invitations to prestigious festivals. Famous conductors, instrumental artists and world opera stars often perform with the orchestra (Rolando Villazón, José Carreras, Bryn Terfel, José Cura, Ramón Vargas, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Jennifer Larmore, Juan Diego Flórez, Anna Netrebko, Erwin Schrott, Jonas Kaufmann, etc.).
