Kate Lindsey – mezzo-soprano
Rolando Villazón – tenor
Filharmonie Bohuslava Martinů
Guerassim Voronkov – conductor
Do you remember the young American mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey? She made her Czech debut at the invitation of the Nachtigall Artists on 25th January 2012, when she was considered an extraordinary discovery of the New York Metropolitan Opera. She made her debut in the house in September 2005 and soon worked her way up from small or minor roles to major ones. We could also admire her art thanks to the MET: Live in HD broadcasts: on 19th December 2009, she excelled as Nicklausse in Les contes d’Hoffmann, and later as the wonderful Emperor Nero in Handel's opera Agrippina (live broadcast 29th February 2020). She is a regular guest not only at the Met, but also at the Royal Opera Covent Garden in London, the Vienna State Opera, Milan's La Scala or the famous festivals in Salzburg, Glyndebourne, and Aix-en-Provence.
The world-renowned tenor Rolando Villazón is (as we all know very well!) a phenomenon, an unbridled force, a versatile artist with a successful career as a great opera and concert singer, a brilliant presenter, a witty writer, and an opera director. Native of Mexico City holds a number of prestigious awards, including the title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters from France, which has become his second home.
Rolando fell in love with Prague, since April 2012 he has been returning to Czech capital repeatedly at the invitation of the Nachtigall Artists, each time with an original program. In November, he will feature program called Amore e follia (Love and Madness) and will present arias from the operas of Joseph Haydn, Antonio Vivaldi, Vincenzo Bellini, Jacques Offenbach, and Gioachino Rossini.
