Hera Hyesang Park – soprano
Emily D´Angelo – mezzo-soprano
Petr Nekoranec – tenor
Levy Sekgapane – tenor
Vincenzo Scalera – piano
Tenor Petr Nekoranec, native of Polná of the Vysočina District, is one of the most outstanding personalities of the young singing generation. After a wonderful concert in July 2021, he returns to the castle courtyard, again with wonderful guests! We already know the Canadian-Italian mezzo-soprano Emily D'Angelo and the Korean soprano Hera Hyesang Park from their Prague concerts. The new face of the Society of Friends of Musical Talents concerts is the winner of Operalia 2017, South African tenor Levy Sekgapane.
Petr Nekoranec was born at Nové Dvory by Polná; his artistic beginnings are also linked with Polná. He began his vocal studies at the local Art School in the class of Arnoštka Zemanová, regularly performed at concerts organized by the Primary Art School in Polná, performed with Polná Bigband under the leadership of Jiří Šíma and participated in many musical events in Polná. Today he is soloist of the National Theatre Opera in Prague. He has won awards and other prizes from prestigious international competitions, completing studies at opera studios in Munich and New York. In 2018–2020 he was a soloist of the Stuttgart Opera. He excelled in Florence in October 2022 as Oronte in Handel's Alcina alongside Cecilia Bartoli in the title role and in March 2023 as Pylades (Gluck: Iphigénie en Tauride) at the Opéra national de Lorraine in Nancy.
Emily D’Angelo won the 2018 Plácido Domingo Operalia. She has made guest appearances at prestigious venues including the Metropolitan Opera, where she made her debut as the Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte (December 2018) and returned as Annio (La clemenza di Tito), Sister Mathilde (Dialogues of the Carmelites) and Prince Charmant (Cendrillon). At La Scala in Milan, she has appeared as Dorabella (Così fan tutte) and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni). In November 2022, she made her debut at the Royal Opera House, London, as Ruggiero (Alcina); she will return to the Paris Opera in April 2023 in the title role of Ariodante, and to the Bavarian State Opera in July as Juno (Semele).
Like Peter and Emily, Hera Hyesang Park, too, has the status of a rising star. In February 2017, she made her debut as the First Wood Sprite (Rusalka) at the New York Metropolitan Opera, where she returned as Amore (Orfeo ed Euridice) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte). At the Glyndebourne Festival, she sang the roles of Naiad (Ariadne auf Naxos), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Despina (Così fan tutte) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro). In March 2023 she returns to the Metropolitan Opera as Nannetta (Falstaff) and in May, she makes her debut at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires as Pamina.
Tenor Levy Sekgapane is the winner of the 2017 Plácido Domingo Operalia competition. Two years earlier, he also won the Belvedere and the Monserrat Caballé competition. And he immediately took off around the world, to the most important venues such as the Paris National Opera, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich or the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. In July 2019, he made his debut as Arbace (Idomeneo) at the Salzburg Festival and in September 2022 as Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) at the Vienna State Opera. In March 2023, he returns to Opera Zurich as Ramiro (Cinderella).
Accompanied by the excellent pianist Vincenzo Scalera, the young artists will perform the most beautiful operatic arias.
