The Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Łukasz Borowicz – conductor
In 2014, we shall welcome in Prague one of the most sought-after lyric tenors of our time, Polish tenor Piotr Beczała. He built his career slowly but surely. Today he belongs to the top world singers.
He started singing at the Linz Opera in Austria and Zurich, Switzerland. In April 2004 he made his debut in Covent Garden and continued with important debuts in La Scala (January 2006) and Metropolitan opera (December 2006). In February 2009 he stepped in for Rolando Villazón in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor alongside Anna Netrebko; this performance has been broadcasted live in HD world-wide. Since then, Beczała’s renown has changed from the rising star from Poland to the absolute world top class.
