Both the Mexican/French tenor Rolando Villazón and the Russian Bass Ildar Abdrazakov have visited Prague within the Nachtigall Artists’ World Opera Stars series several times. In the most recent years, Rolando Villazón paid tributes to Verdi (2013), Mozart (2014), and in 2015 he performed in a joint concert with Cecilia Bartoli in Prague. For a number of years, he’s been enchanting audiences all over the world with his energetic stage presence and great sense of humor which make his operatic creations simply irresistible. He won nine ECHO Klassik awards and he holds the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Several years ago, he started a successful career as an opera director, writer and TV host in Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
Ildar Abdrazakov is one of the most remarkable world singer – basses. Since his debut in La Scala, Milan in 2001, the Russian singer made himself at home at all prestigious opera stages, including the Metropolitan Opera New York, Vienna State Opera, and Bavarian State Opera in Munich. He is also an active concert singer; he performed at BBC Proms, Carnegie Hall, New York, etc. He made is Prague debut in a joint concert with Anna Netrebko, Ekaterina Gubanova, and Aleksandrs Antonenko in 2015, and in a solo recital with Czech National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Marco Armiliato in 2016. Both singers will be accompanied by the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, under the baton of the Russian conductor Guerassim Voronkov.
