Ute Lemper – The Best Of

For many years, Ute Lemper has been the number one interpreter of French chanson and cabaret songs and she has no comparable competitor. She excels in musicals (Cabaret, Cats, Chicago, Blue Angel). Around the world, she is known as the Kurt Weill interpreter. “Weill’s songs cannot be just sung; one must live them… “, says the artist who regularly performs at world most prestigious stages, who appears in movies and makes unusual recordings. She travels around cities with her band, her solo recordings, she exhibits her art works and she also published her autobiography “Non Censure”. She recorded more than twenty solo CDs and several DVDs for which she received numerous awards; and she also sings her own songs.


Ute Lemper was born in Münster in North Germany. She studied Dance Academy in Köln and attended Max Reinhardt School of Drama in Vienna. She lives in New York City.

At her Prague concert, she will introduce her project The Last Tango in Berlin which includes songs by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, Berlin cabaret songs, French chansons of Jacques Brel and Edith Piaf, and she will also take us to Argentina and the world of Astor Piazzolla’s tango.
