Embrace the spirit of Christmas with a concert by Petr Nekoranec and Maria Kokareva!

Tenor Petr Nekoranec is no stranger to our devoted audience – he has been closely connected with our agency for over a decade and today stands among the most distinguished Czech singers of his generation. His voice has enchanted listeners across four continents – in Europe, the United States, Australia, and Africa – and of course here at home, on the stages of the National Theatre in Prague and Brno as well as in concert halls across the country. It was in the beautiful hall of the New Town Hall that he first appeared at our Christmas concert: on 20^th December 2015, as a rising star. Ten years later, he returns to the very same stage to introduce a new extraordinary talent: soprano Maria Kokareva.

This young singer studied at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence and already holds numerous prizes from international competitions. She has gained invaluable experience through young artist programs, first at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and, from 2023 to 2025, at the International Opera Studio of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. There she has been entrusted with a wide range of roles, including Musetta (La bohème), Barbarina and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Juliette (Roméo et Juliette), and Frasquita (Carmen). In May 2025, she made her debut as Ismene in Mozart’s Mitridate, re di Ponto, a concert performance with Les Talens Lyriques under Christophe Rousset at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris and at La Scala in Milan.

At the Berlin State Opera, Maria Kokareva appeared as Juliette in Gounod’s timeless tale of Verona’s immortal lovers, opposite Petr Nekoranec as Roméo in November 2024. It is this partnership that will be rekindled in Prague – with the two young stars joining their voices in famous arias and duets that will draw you into a world of passion, tenderness, and musical beauty.

The piano part will be entrusted to the brilliant Ahmad Hedar, a long-standing and beloved partner of our concert series. To crown the festive mood, students of the Jan Deyl Conservatory – selected during vocal masterclasses with Mariusz Kwiecień in autumn 2025 – will bring an added touch of Christmas joy.

A magical evening awaits you – filled with emotion, dazzling voices, and exceptional artistry. Come and share in a festive musical celebration in the very heart of Prague!
