Anna Netrebko

Anna Netrebko – soprano

“A true star who fills every moment of her performance with her innate charisma" – that's just one of the many superlatives accompanying soprano Anna Netrebko for almost three decades. The winner of the 2020 Polar Music Prize, which is considered the Nobel Prize of music, is not only a phenomenon of the opera world, but also a respected and admired performer of songs. And it is in this role that she will perform at the Prague concert. Her piano partners include Daniel Barenboim, with whom the artist performed songs by N. Rimsky-Korsakov and P. I. Tchaikovsky at the 2009 Salzburg Festival, and a year later (along with songs by Antonín Dvořák and Richard Strauss) at a recital in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall; the live concert was recorded by the Deutsche Grammophon label and released under the title In the Still of Night. Rachmaninov's songs can be found on her other CD by Deutsche Grammophon titled Russian Album.

We had the opportunity to hear Anna Netrebko in Prague four times thanks to Nachtigall Artists. For the first time on 23rd November 2012 as part of her European tour with the opera Yolanta by P. I. Tchaikovsky, the second time, in collaboration with the Prague Proms on 10th July 2015 with a quartet of famous opera colleagues, Ekaterina Gubanova, Aleksandrs Antonenko, Ildar Abdrazakov and Marco Armiliato, the third time with the pianist Malcolm Martineau on 15th November 2018, and finally for the fourth time with tenor Yusip Eyvazov on 27th December 2021. "Anna Netrebko is at her artistic peak, her voice - rich in aliquots -reigns in the highs and delights with a rich, darkened color in the middle positions...", the critic wrote on the server Opera Plus on 29th December 2021. We can look forward to another unforgettable evening, this time with songs by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Anna Netrebko records exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon.
