Jonathan Tetelman – tenor
Sylvia D’Eramo – soprano
PKF – Prague Philharmonia
Rastislav Štúr – conductor
Tenor Jonathan Tetelman and soprano Sylvia D'Eramo chose arias and duets from Giacomo Puccini's opera for their first concert in Prague.
The Chilean American tenor Jonathan Tetelman was described by the New York Times as "a total star", and thus briefly described why the artist receives offers from the world's leading opera houses and orchestras. His path to the operatic elite was, however, by no means straightforward: Jonathan started as a DJ in one of the Manhattan clubs and only after some time decided to devote himself only to operatic singing. "For six months I worked as a waiter, and with the support of my family I can pay for several lessons a week. I listened to old recordings and YouTube videos of great performers, while learning vocal technique…“. Today he is a sought-after singer on front European and American stages. His signature roles include Cavaradossi (Tosca), Werther, Rodolfo (La Boheme), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), and Canio (I Pagliacci). He is a frequent guest at London's Covent Garden, Theater an der Wien, Deutsche Opera Berlin, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Vienna State Opera, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, etc. In 2021, he signed an exclusive contract with the Deutsche Grammophon.
The young soprano Sylvia D'Eramo is a graduate of the prestigious Lindemann Program for Young Artists at the New York Metropolitan Opera (2020-22). To a great critical acclaim, she has already appeared repeatedly at the Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Lyric Opera Kansas City, at the festival in Switzerland Verbier et al. PKF – Prague Philharmonia will be conducted by the renowned Slovak conductor Rastislav Štúr.
