Petr Nekoranec& Guests – NIGHT AT THE CASTLE

Petr Nekoranec – tenor
Lada Bočková – soprano
Vincenzo Scalera – piano

Tenor Petr Nekoranec, native of Polná of the Vysočina District is one of the most outstanding personalities of the young singing generation not only in the Czech Republic but also in the world. With this project, we would like to bring his art closer to the audience in his native town, while also attracting summer tourists and Peter’s fans to this beautiful region. Petr was born at Nové Dvory by Polná; his artistic beginnings are also linked with Polná. He began his vocal studies at the local Art School in the class of Arnoštka Zemanová, regularly performed at concerts organized by the Primary Art School in Polná, performed with Polná Bigband under the leadership of Jiří Šíma and participated in many musical events in Polná. Since then, he has come a long way to the “opera Olympus”, winning awards and other prizes from prestigious international competitions, completing studies at opera studios in Munich and New York. In 2018–2020 he was a soloist of the Stuttgart Opera and has regularly returned to the Bavarian State Opera.

He confirmed his successful career with his profile album French Arias which he recorded with the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of the American conductor Christopher Franklin (Supraphon 2019). For his concert in Polná, he prepared not only arias from the album, but also the most beautiful arias of Italian Bel canto and the Naples Songs. He invited the Czech soprano Lada Bočková, who made it to the semi-finals of the prestigious 2019 Plácido Domingo Operalia World Competition. Since the 2020/21 season, she has been a soloist of the opera house in Bonn. The artist will be accompanied by Vincenzo Scalera, the most sought-after piano partner of opera stars such as Carlo Bergonzi, Montserrat Caballé, José Carreras, Cesare Siepi, Renata Scotto, Sumi Jo, Katia Ricciarelli, Maria Guleghina, etc. In Prague, he accompanied Juan Diego Flórez (2017) and Petr Nekoranec (2018) in the Dvořák Hall. He has been heard in all the major music centers including Edinburgh and Salzburg Festivals, and the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.

The City of Polná is famous due to its musical school. We will include several other activities in the weekend in Polná. On the afternoon of July 23, there will be a meeting with children and students of Primary Art School in Polná. Lada Bočková and Petr Nekoranec will share their experience from the beginning of their careers, and they will be answering questions of the young artists. Selected talented children will get a change to perform during the meeting. The meeting with the pianist Vincenzo Solera will take place the day before, July 22 in Prague.

Concert in cooperation with the town of Polná.

The concert is being held under the auspices of the Governor of Vysočina Mr. Vítězslav Schrek.

The concert is being held under the auspices Mr. Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
